Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the Contractor delivers high-quality work while maintaining good safety practices in accordance with statutory requirements.

The Resident Engineer will attend all meetings related to the project and provide ongoing supervision as needed. They will ensure compliance with project specifications, construction drawings, and Building Control Act and Regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Contractor is delivering high-quality work and maintaining good safety practices.
  • Attend all meetings related to the project including site, progress, variation, coordination, QAQC, etc.
  • Provide ongoing supervision for the construction of civil and structural works as needed.
  • Carry out supervision and inspection C&S, M&E, and geotechnical works including concreting, pavement, drainage, compaction, curing of concrete, formwork, re-props, and removal of props.
  • Manage and supervise Resident Technical Officers under his charge.
  • Coordinate with safety teams and provide an overview of WASH and aerodrome safety management systems and implementation of safe working practices on site.
  • Ensure all construction works do not impact or affect the operations of the client.
  • Verify all reports and claims relating to C&S, M&E, and geotechnical works submitted by contractors.
  • Inspect the quality of work and materials delivered to the site, take corrective actions for any non-compliance, and report any materials that do not conform to the specifications to the OIC.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Minimum 8 years of civil engineering experience, with at least 3 years of experience in major construction works deep excavation, drainage, pipe jacking, ground improvement, flexible/rigid aircraft pavement, supervising, and installation of monitoring instruments, and collating of monitoring data.

Must have a degree in Civil Engineering recognized by PEB and be accredited as a RE with IES. Must also be able to perform shift work and have Airport flexible and rigid pavement experience.
