Job Title: Construction Project Director


A challenging role has become available in the construction industry for an experienced Construction Project Director. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, this key leadership position is responsible for overseeing and directing construction projects from conception to completion and handover to clients.


This includes reviewing projects in-depth to schedule various resources, deliverables and estimate costs, as well as overseeing all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with project specifications, building and safety regulations. The successful candidate will also be responsible for coordinating and directing construction engineers, workers and subcontractors, selecting suitable tools, materials, plant and equipment and tracking inventory, meeting contractual conditions of performance requirements, reviewing, monitoring and adjusting work progress on a daily basis, managing the preparation of internal and external reports pertaining to job status in all aspects with the assistance of engineers, planning ahead to prevent problems and resolve emerging issues effectively and sensibly, negotiating major terms and conditions of agreements, guiding the drafting of contracts and obtaining permits and licences, analysing, managing and mitigating risks throughout the entire execution process, ensuring quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and oversee construction projects from start to finish
  • Develop and implement project schedules, budgets and resource allocation plans
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and project team members
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes and safety regulations
  • Manage and mitigate project risks and resolve any emerging issues
  • Prepare and present project reports to senior management and clients
Requirements and Skills:

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a proven track record of experience in construction management, preferably with at least 15 years of working experience in the construction industry. You should have advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods in civil and structural engineering works, as well as expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards.

You should also possess good command in English and Mandarin, as well as excellent communication skills, ability to plan and see the big picture, conflict and crisis management skills, leadership and human resources management skills, time, schedule, safety and project management skills, and expert knowledge in construction management, architecture, engineering or related fields.

A diploma in a relevant field is an advantage but not essential.
