School Counsellor - Student Development Specialist

Description
The School Counsellor plays a vital role in providing expert counselling services to students, while also serving as an integral member of the Student Development Team. This dynamic professional will be actively involved in designing and implementing programmes aimed at promoting students' emotional well-being and personal growth.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Counselling Services
* Provide direct counselling intervention for students in need, prioritizing their emotional and academic well-being.
* Collaborate with other counsellors to design and implement a comprehensive system of support for students, ensuring timely interventions and follow-ups.
2. Staff Support
* Offer consultations and training sessions to staff members on managing challenging student behaviour, addressing academic and emotional issues.
* Facilitate workshops on effective communication, conflict resolution, and stress management for school staff.
3. Parent Engagement
* Provide guidance and support to parents on managing students' academic, behavioural, and emotional challenges.
* Organize workshops and seminars for parents to enhance their parenting skills, fostering a positive home-school partnership.
4. School Duties
* Participate in the Caring Action in Response to Emergencies (CARE) team, providing critical support during school emergencies.
* Contribute to the design and implementation of affective and well-being programmes, collaborating with the Student Development Team.
5. Curriculum Design and Implementation
* Work closely with the Student Development Team to develop a guidance curriculum that promotes students' social, emotional, and academic growth.
* Collaborate on designing and implementing programmes to foster students' emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and resilience.
Requirements
* A graduate qualification in counselling, counselling psychology, or clinical psychology is essential.
* Registration with the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC) or the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) is preferred.
* Minimum one year of professional experience in counselling, with expertise in case management, critical incident management, and programme development.
* Strong organisational, multitasking, and communication skills are essential for this role.
