Software Mainframe Specialist Job Overview

This role is an exciting opportunity to utilize your mainframe development skills and expertise to deliver high-quality solutions to clients.

Job Description:

As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining software applications on the mainframe platform. You will work closely with internal teams and vendors to resolve application and system issues.

  • Develop program specifications and documentation to meet functional and technical requirements.
  • Perform unit and system integration testing to ensure seamless application execution.
  • Support user acceptance testing to guarantee client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve application and system issues.
  • Develop improvements to existing software applications.
  • Communicate effectively with users to understand business needs and analyze impact on the application.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Technical Skills & Experience:
  • A minimum of 8 years of mainframe development experience, specifically in banking systems.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with Cardlink system.
  • Expertise in COBOL, CICS and EZT programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of the system development life cycle.
  • Ability to multitask and perform well under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
