**Job Overview:**

The Library Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of daily library activities, showcasing expertise in technical skills, interpersonal competencies, and adaptability.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with shelving and maintaining the organization of library collections to ensure efficient access to resources.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, including handling inquiries and processing registrations, fostering positive relationships with patrons.
  • Maintain library facilities to meet operational and customer needs, ensuring a conducive learning environment.
  • Support library operations, including compiling reports and providing administrative assistance, facilitating seamless day-to-day functions.
  • Liaise with IT Support and vendors on technical issues, resolving problems efficiently.
  • Process library materials and assist with stock-taking, maintaining accurate records and optimal inventory levels.
  • Manage student librarians and provide guidance on using library resources, mentoring and developing their skills.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of library equipment and promote library events and resources, enhancing user engagement and satisfaction.

**Requirements:**

  • A strong educational background, preferably a GCE 'O' Level or Diploma holder, is essential for this role.
  • Prior working experience in libraries is highly desirable, demonstrating commitment and dedication to the field.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills enable effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability, is crucial for success in this position.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and library software is required, leveraging technology to enhance productivity and efficiency.
