Job Title:
Mechanical Design Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Specialist to join our team. As a key member, you will be responsible for driving design specifications and supporting the design proposal. Your expertise in generating detailed 3D/2D CAD drawings using Autodesk Inventor or equivalent will be crucial in delivering high-quality design documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct feasibility studies and drive design specifications to support the design proposal.
  • Generate detailed 3D/2D CAD drawings using Autodesk Inventor or equivalent.
  • Release a full set of design documentation.
  • Perform tolerance stack-up and various analyses on critical design parameters.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team on design for manufacturing (DFM), generate assembly processes, and qualification procedures inclusive of documentation.
  • Hands-on prototype assembly, testing, and qualification inclusive of troubleshooting.
  • Work closely with other teams to ensure the project timeline and all design requirements are specified and delivered.

Requirements:
  • Degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in industrial automation machine design.
  • Good experience in motion and drive components.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD preferable Autodesk Inventor.
  • Adequate knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
  • Able to effectively interact with a variety of personnel at all organisational levels and customers.
  • Team player who is responsible and committed to working in both collaborative environments as well as independently in a scheduled project-driven environment.
