We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our Research Achievements, Impact and Strategic Enhancement (RAISE) Unit as an Assistant Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining web crawlers to extract publication data from online sources. You will also work with APIs to collect and process data where web crawling is not feasible.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in computing, sciences, or business administration, and at least 5 years of experience working with large datasets in research, business intelligence, or analytics. Strong programming skills in Python and experience in designing visuals and creating professional PowerPoint slides are essential.

\

In addition to your technical expertise, you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders. You will be meticulous, positive, and able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

\
  • \
  • Design, implement, and maintain web crawlers to extract publication data from online sources\
  • Work with APIs to collect and process data where web crawling is not feasible\
  • Track research output metrics for the purpose of research performance analysis\
  • Organize and staff research programme meetings including arranging meeting dates, collating agenda, writing minutes\
  • Liaise and work closely with research programme directors to consolidate the research achievements of each programme for reporting to the School Management, Governing Board and Board of Trustees\
  • Consolidate updates and information received by the RAISE Unit such as media releases/publicity, publication updates from Faculty, awards and achievements from Faculty etc\
  • Produce PowerPoint slide decks for high-level management presentations, reporting purposes and school-wide communications\
  • Prepare the Dean's Management Report (quarterly) and the school annual report\
  • Manage the school internal grants which includes post grant operations such as account creation, budget loading, account closure etc\
  • Any ad-hoc tasks where required\

Requirements:

  • \
  • Bachelor Degree / Diploma in Computing, Sciences, Business Administration\
  • Preferably more than 5 years of related experience working with large datasets in research, business intelligence, or analytics in academic / research / healthcare industry\
  • Knowledge and experience in programming such as Python\
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize web crawling performance\
  • Experience in designing visuals, infographics, creating professional and attractive powerpoint slides for management\
  • Experience in minutes writing and generating minutes in a short time frame\
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office especially MS Powerpoint, MS Excel\
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders\
  • Meticulous, positive attitude, able to multi-task, and work under pressure and tight deadlines\
  • Resourceful, strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to develop new ideas and provide conceptual solutions\
