Tencent seeks a talented and driven Data Scientist intern to join our team. As an integral part of our global operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, compliance, and reliability of our services worldwide.

About the Role:
  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, development, engineering, and legal, to develop and execute plans for improving user safety, data compliance, and service reliability.
  • As a facilitator, you will communicate effectively across teams and help drive development and operations forward.
  • With your technical expertise, you will assist in defining processes and developing internal and external tools to enhance core operations, such as data engineering, code deployment, and service reliability.

In this role, you will also work closely with other teams to ensure the availability and compliance of WeChat features for users globally.

Requirements:
  • You must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in software design, development, and deployment practices is essential, with at least one of the following programming languages: C++, Java, Python, Scala, Golang.
  • At most, you should have no more than a few school years remaining at the time of entry into your internship.
  • You must commit to full-time internship employment (Monday to Friday) for a period of at least three months or part-time internship employment (minimum 4 days/week) for a period of at least five months.
  • A strong sense of ownership, customer-oriented values, and integrity are expected.
  • Fast learning ability and a good team player are essential.
  • Prior internet industry work or internship experience is preferred.
  • Fluency in both English and Mandarin is required to interact with international stakeholders and those based in HQ.
