Job Title: Electrical Engineer (Marine Sector)


Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer with experience in the marine sector to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and performing fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and maintenance of power systems and components in workshops and onboard vessels.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise/perform fault diagnosis, trouble shooting, and maintenance of power system/component in workshops and onboard vessels
  • Liaise with various departments within the company and client to expedite the scope of work
  • Lead a team of electricians in corrective and preventive maintenance
  • Prepare work completion reports for customer acceptance
  • Perform maintenance works in accordance with vessel safety requirements
  • Conduct in-depth troubleshooting of electrical connections and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) programs
  • Coordinate with vendors and partners, conduct design reviews with customers, and maintain documentation according to quality systems

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in the marine-related or oil & gas industry
  • Candidates with no experience may apply
  • Experienced dealing with 440V main switchboard, distribution boards, transformer, power generator, main engine, converter, inverter batteries, fire alarm, and flooding system
  • Experience in troubleshooting on various brands of PLCs (Panasonic, Omron, Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, ABB, etc.) is advantageous
  • Proficient in selection and integration of sensors, pneumatic systems, stepper and servo motors, control systems, power supply units, and other electrical hardware
  • Possess man management experience in leading up to 6 men, including supervisors and technicians
  • Willing to work as a team player to achieve assigned tasks within given timelines
  • Comfortable with report writing
  • Able to work onboard vessels and at heights

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position based in Changi, with transport provided at nearby locations.

  • Working hours: 7.45am-5pm
