Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Shipbuilding Design Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that vessel designs meet the requirements of our clients and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have experience in shipbuilding design, with a strong understanding of engineering principles and practices. They will be able to evaluate and compare vessel requirements against specifications, manage dealings with designers, classification societies, and flag statutory bodies on engineering issues, and liaise with vendors and construction teams for any engineering or design issues.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating and comparing vessel requirements against specifications;
  • Managing dealings with designers, classification societies, and flag statutory bodies on engineering issues;
  • Liaising with vendors and construction teams for any engineering or design issues;
  • Defining and reviewing technical specifications from designers and vendors;
  • Liaising with vendors to ensure equipment specifications meet owner and client requirements;
  • Ensuring design and drawings meet owner and client requirements;
  • Liaising with designers and shipyards for vessel-related electrical, automation, and digitization matters;
  • Responsible for new building vessel design and engineering ensuring vessel design meets owner and client objectives;
  • Ensuring vessel design achieves cost efficiency;
  • Ensuring vessel design meets IMO and flag latest regulations and client's requirements.
