Job Title: Marine Superintendent Senior

A highly experienced and skilled Marine Superintendent Senior is required to join our team at DIRECT SEARCH ASIA PTE. LTD.

Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned professional with extensive experience in marine operations, safety, and quality assurance to lead our team and ensure the smooth operation of our vessels.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annumJob Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating and arranging Oil Major Vetting Inspections, ensuring timely follow-up as directed.
  • Conducting Marine Inspections, pre-vetting inspections, or providing vetting assistance as needed, recording and filing all deficiencies noted during vessel attendance.
  • Performing annual onboard navigation audits, ideally during short voyages, and entering audit results into the navigation audits database.
  • Helping to investigate and analyze the root causes of accidents.
  • Serving as a member of the Emergency Response Team.
  • Facilitating external safety audits and onboard training by coordinating with designated audit or training companies.
  • Overseeing cosmetic upgrades, including painting.
  • Monitoring and supporting all vessels regarding operational issues, such as loading, discharging, tank cleaning, and grade change.
Quality and Compliance:

The successful candidate will also be responsible for:

  • Aiding in implementing Ship Management's Health, Safety, Security, Quality, and Environmental Policies, including sailing onboard for short voyages to ensure the HSSEQ System is implemented on new vessels.
  • Participating in the periodic management review of the HSSEQ system, documenting findings, and suggesting necessary actions.
  • Assisting in maintaining and updating the HSSEQ Management System.
  • Being part of the internal Marine & HSSEQ audit team.
  • Helping to establish annual ISM & ISPS audit plans, coordinating and conducting internal audits, and following up on corrective actions.
  • Assisting in investigating and analyzing the root causes of accidents, marine casualties, and near misses.
  • Contributing to the preparation, implementation, and maintenance of office and vessel contingency plans.
  • Communicating with vessels on safety, navigation, operations, health, quality, security, and environmental matters, including responding to monthly Vessel Safety Reports and Near Miss Reports.
  • Reviewing all safety-related reports from vessels and similar reports from other sources.
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • At least 10 years of sea experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of sailing experience as Chief Officer on Chemical Tankers (preferably on parcel tankers).
  • Relevant maritime certifications, such as Chief Officer's certificate or Master's license (an added advantage).
  • Experience with Ship Vetting by majors, Ship, and Terminal Operations.
  • Knowledge of maritime regulations.
  • A strong sense of responsibility, initiative, and willingness to travel.
