We are looking for a motivated Principal Research Scientist to provide strategic direction and leadership to guide our centre of excellence in achieving its vision and mission. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the Director in offering scientific insights and strategic direction for research collaborations with industry partners. You will also help the Director plan, strategize, and implement frameworks and processes to meet our centre's milestones and goals.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director in providing strategic direction and leadership to guide the centre of excellence in achieving its vision and mission.
  • Assist the Director in offering scientific insights and strategic direction for research collaborations with industry partners.
  • Help the Director plan, strategize, and implement frameworks and processes to meet the centre's milestones and goals.
  • Lead research programs focused on emerging technologies and talent development.
  • Foster strong working relationships with internal teams and external collaborators to achieve common objectives.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and support to researchers and PhD students.

Requirements:

  • PhD degree from a world-leading university, preferably in a field related to Computer Science/Engineering, with at least 20 years' experience in a research-intensive educational and research environment.
  • Strong leadership in managing executive and professional programmes.
  • Strong experience as subject matter expert in digital technologies, cross-disciplinary areas, etc.
  • Significant experience in supervising and mentoring research staff and students.
  • Significant experience and success in leading strategic collaborations.
  • Excellent oral and written communications, with strong interpersonal skills.
