Job Title

Lead Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of our data pipelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, experience with cloud-based technologies, and excellent leadership skills.

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest, process, and store structured and unstructured data from internal and external sources.
  • Optimize ETL/ELT processes for real-time and batch data processing.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and lineage across enterprise systems.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and develop effective solutions.
  • Enforce data governance policies to ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal standards.
  • Provide guidance on best practices for data management and analytics to cross-functional teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The following qualifications and skills are required for this position:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering with a focus on cloud-based technologies.
  • Proven experience in designing and building data pipelines in Azure Synapse or Databricks.
  • Strong expertise in SQL, Python, or Scala for data processing and transformation.
  • Proven experience in big data processing and working with technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, Snowflake, Databricks, or AWS/GCP/Azure data platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools and modern data warehousing solutions.
  • Experience in implementing data governance and security measures, with a strong understanding of how governance applies across the entire data pipeline to ensure quality, security, and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
