Fire Protection Engineer Job Description

UG M&E PTE. LTD. is seeking a highly skilled Fire Protection Engineer to join our team. As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining fire protection systems to ensure the safety of people and property.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and supervise sub-contractors' work progression to ensure compliance with shop drawings, method statements, and material specifications.
  • Liaise with relevant authorities, sub-contractors, and clients to resolve issues and ensure smooth project execution.
  • Review and align fire protection design drawings to ensure compliance with design specifications and guidelines.
  • Identify discrepancies between M&E, structural, ID, architectural, and client provisions.
  • Manage and execute projects as per the schedule, ensuring timely completion and quality delivery.
  • Attend meetings with contractors to address issues and update progress.
  • Study and review drawings and specifications for compliance.
  • Allocate work to supervisors and ensure jobs are correctly and properly achieved within standards and SOP.
  • Plan and lead testing and commissioning of fire protection systems.
  • Follow up with site/authority inspections, defects rectifications, and maintenance of fire protection works.
  • Plan and prepare OMM, training, and As-Builts drawings for handing over completed fire protection systems to clients.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Building Services or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Building Services.
  • 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Good communication and written skills.
  • Experience in Water Mist system and/or foam system is an added advantage.
  • Able to work independently and possess good interpersonal skills.
