Hitachi Energy Singapore Pte. Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled CAD Specialist to join our team in Singapore. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of project outcomes by providing high-quality CAD design and drafting services.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced CAD Specialist to work with us on various projects, utilizing your expertise in computer-aided design and drafting (CAD/CAM/CAE) software to create accurate and detailed designs. Your responsibilities will include assessing engineering requirements, translating them into technical blueprints, drawings, layouts, and simulation models using CAD/CAM/CAE software or applying standard CAD/CAM/CAE techniques to digitize, edit, and revise engineering drawings of components, parts, and assemblies.

You will be collaborating closely with product/manufacturing process engineers by recommending changes to component design based on outcomes of digital proto-typing and design simulations, providing materials lists and cost estimates. Additionally, you may be responsible for leading daily operations, training, delegating, and reviewing the work of lower-level employees. This role requires strong leadership skills, a collaborative approach, and excellent communication skills. You will also have the opportunity to work in a team environment and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess engineering requirements and translate them into technical blueprints, drawings, layouts, and simulation models using CAD/CAM/CAE software.
  • Create accurate and detailed designs using computer-aided design and drafting (CAD/CAM/CAE) software.
  • Collaborate with product/manufacturing process engineers to recommend changes to component design based on outcomes of digital proto-typing and design simulations.
  • Provide materials lists and cost estimates as required.
  • Lead daily operations, train, delegate, and review the work of lower-level employees.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should possess a Vocational/ITE/Diploma training in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Sound knowledge of AutoCAD is essential, and 3 years of experience in the power sector is highly desirable. Fresh graduates will also be considered. BIM360 exposure will be appreciated, and advanced knowledge of operational procedures and tools obtained through extensive work experience is beneficial. A good understanding of transmission regulations and current H&S legislation is also required. You should be able to work in a team and possess good interpersonal skills, with proven leadership skills and a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach. Excellent negotiation and communication skills are also essential.

What We Offer:

As a valued member of our team, you can expect a competitive salary range of SGD $60,000 - SGD $90,000 per annum, depending on your experience and qualifications.
