DevOps Engineering Leader (IaC, DevSecOps) - perm in SG Banking

 

Lead with Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the organization's DevOps and DevSecOps strategy, aligning with broader business goals.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and automation across development, operations, and security teams.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of DevOps initiatives, reporting regularly to the executive team. Primarily focusing on Productivity and Quality

 

People Leadership and Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of DevOps engineers.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to ensure optimal performance and adherence to industry best practices.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and learning within the team.

 

Provide Technical Expertise

  • Provide hands-on expertise in the design, implementation, and management of DevOps tools and processes.
  • Ensure the effective use of Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitHub, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Chef.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for both on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Experience in ML Ops will be advantageous
  • Champion the integration of security tools, including Static Application Security Testing (SAST) and Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST), Container Scanning into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Ensure that security vulnerabilities are identified and remediated early in the development lifecycle.
  • Directing team to standardize pipelines and processes.

 

Drive Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including business leaders, IT teams, and risk management.
  • Effectively communicate the value and impact of DevOps initiatives to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with other executives to ensure alignment with overall technology and business strategies.

  • Tertiary Education with a reputable institution in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Progressive experience in software development, operations, or related fields.
  • Leadership experience in DevOps, preferably in a financial institution or highly regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated success in leading large-scale DevOps transformations.
  • Proven expertise in DevOps tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Git) and IaC (Terraform, Chef).
  • Experience with both on-premise (VM, OCP) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Hands-on experience with SAST and DAST tools and their integration into the SDLC.

 

Soft Skills

  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical execution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across the organization.
  • Strong leadership, mentorship, and team-building skills.
  • Deep understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and security best practices.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and risk management in the financial sector
