Asia Pacific is the most dynamic region in the world for insurance industry growth and a pivotal part of Lloyd's future growth strategy. The Lloyd's Asia platform in Singapore is Lloyd's largest insurance and reinsurance hub outside London with our offices at CapitaGreen regularly hosting events to promote Lloyd's expertise and risk insights and are home to open trading sessions where brokers and underwriters discuss and place risks in a market environment.
The Market Development Team is instrumental to the commercial success of the Lloyd's Asia platform. The Market Development Associate assist in developing and delivering Lloyd's promotion, distribution, and innovation priorities in Asia Pacific, supporting the development and delivery of Lloyd's strategy, lead marketing and events activity to help Lloyd's to educate and engage with audiences in Singapore and beyond.
Role Purpose
Drive Lloyd's Asia Pacific growth strategy through strategic marketing, event management, and stakeholder engagement to enhance market presence and facilitate business development initiatives.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Strategy Initiatives and Projects
- Support the development and execution of Lloyd's Asia's Market Development strategy.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives such as engaging new entrants and facilitating market engagement with prospective capital providers in Singapore.
2. Distribution and Stakeholder Management
- Support the Market Development Manager in achieving Stakeholder Relationship Management priorities.
- Foster collaboration between Corporation and market through support for Lloyd's Asia Development Groups (class of business panels) and the Lloyd's Asia CEO Forum.
- Develop relationships with insurance Associations, Risk Manager Associations, and other relevant bodies in Singapore and APMEA to share expertise and enhance local market knowledge of Lloyd's.
3. Event Management and Marketing
- Manage Lloyd's Asia's events programme, organise and oversee both onsite and virtual events in alignment with annual business plans and budgets. This includes comprehensive event management, from venue sourcing and supplier liaison to programme development, staging, promotion (including social media), speaker coordination, market participation, invitations, RSVPs, and evaluation.
- Host events onsite or virtually, managing event-related suppliers to ensure consistent standards. This involves overseeing venue sourcing, exhibition stand production, and procurement of printed materials and corporate gifts. Coordinate cost guidelines, pricing agreements, and SLAs to stay within budget and track all costs effectively.
- Oversee event evaluations to analyse metrics such as attendance, feedback, satisfaction, and cost per head. Provide senior stakeholder reports and market communications to drive continuous improvement aligned with corporate objectives.
Additional Responsibilities
Undertake ad-hoc tasks assigned by the line manager or the Company to support broader Market Development objectives in Singapore and APMEA.
Skills
- Proficient in analysis, research, and effective presentation delivery.
- Highly skilled in IT for data management, analysis, and interpretation.
- Experienced in project management and organisation, with a solid understanding of the Lloyd's market.
- Capable of independently managing complex projects and stakeholders, with a strong focus on relationship building.
Knowledge
- Sound understanding of the Lloyd's market and commercial (re)insurance.
- Knowledgeable in event management best practices and supplier landscape.
- Demonstrated experience in leading high-quality events across various formats and jurisdictions.
Experience
- Advantageous to have distribution, broking, or underwriting experience.
- Exposure to global insurance markets is beneficial.
- Proven track record in planning and executing successful B2B corporate events.
- Utilises events to enhance institutional profiles and achieve strategic goals.

- Develops and effectively communicates strategic ideas to senior audiences.
- Handles syndicate and agency data confidentially while providing useful market-level information.
- Strong stakeholder management and customer service focus.
- Collaborative team player, adept at working with international colleagues and other areas within the organisation.
