The Role

Senior Nurse Manager:

Provide nursing leadership in the effective delivery of optimal clinical care. Provide opinion & ideas to nursing strategy and to lead the operational implementation of those strategies. Lead initiatives of Nursing in collaboration with the nursing team, other heads of departments, doctors, patients, families and external parties. Engage in systems level thinking and its application to a variety of situations and contexts.

Senior Nurse Clinician:

Provide clinical nursing leadership in the effective delivery of optimal clinical care. Coordinate teaching and counselling plans to meet the patient and family's complex needs. Engage in systems level thinking and its application to a variety of situations and contexts. Promote and implement evidence-based nursing practice and act as an expert resource for nurses and junior nurse clinicians.

Senior Nurse Educator:

Provide opinionand ideas to nursing education and training initiatives, to enhance knowledge, critical thinking, skills & competence of nurses who provide care on the clinical units. Promote, in collaboration with Nurse Leaders/Managers and the Clinical Nurse Educators, the development of a good clinical learning environment for nurses. Participate in nursing initiativesand evidence-based nursing practices to maintain quality standard of nursing care and good patient outcome.

Key accountabilities

Senior Nurse Manager:

  • Provide leadership in the recruitment, selection, development and retention of nurseswith the nursing team
  • Conduct patient and staff rounds to promote and maintain healthy customer satisfaction levels
  • Evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care and make appropriate changes in nursing care delivery. Ensure there is a robust Workplace Safety and Health culture within the team
  • Facilitate reviewson occurrence reports and ensure plans are implemented to prevent future occurrences
  • Monitorbudget and expenditure to ensure efficient and effective use of consumables

Senior Nurse Clinician:

  • Ensure competency measurement is implemented. Assess competency mix across organization and facilitate any allocation changes that may be requested by Nurse Managers
  • Promote system accessibility of clinical policies / procedure
  • Foster and promote nurses' participation in quality related projects
  • Nurture nurses' clinical competencies progression through mentoring
  • Perform regular and on-going assessment of nurses' competencies to ensure achievement of targets set and /or expected competency levels

Senior Nurse Educator:

  • Develop, implement and evaluate clinical-based education to meet the competency and learning needs of nurses
  • Facilitate induction, supervise and support for all nursesby delivering an appropriate induction and Continuing Nursing Education program
  • Assist the Nurse Managersand Clinical Nurse Educators with learning needs assessment planning, implementation and evaluation of competency-based educational & training initiatives
  • Collaborate withNurse Managers / Clinicians /Nurse Educators on staff development, clinical-based in-service and continuing education
  • Design curriculum, incorporating active and creative learning methods, evaluation and innovation in nursing education
Qualifications & Experience

Senior Nurse Manager:

  • Diplomain Nursing or equivalent and recognised by the Singapore Nursing Board
  • Post Basic, Degree and Master in Nursing
  • Registered with Singapore Nursing Board is preferred
  • At least 4 years continuous experience in management / leadership in healthcare setting
  • Experience in Manpower planning, Quality and Risk Management

Senior Nurse Clinician:

  • Diplomain Nursing or equivalent and recognised by the Singapore Nursing Board
  • Post Basic, Degree and Master in Nursing
  • Registered with Singapore Nursing Board is preferred
  • At least 4 years continuous experience in management / leadership in healthcare setting
  • Experience in Quality and Risk Management

Senior Nurse Educator:

  • Diplomain Nursing or equivalent and recognised by the Singapore Nursing Board
  • Post Basic, Degree and Master in Nursing
  • Possession of a teaching qualification is preferred
  • Registered with Singapore Nursing Board is preferred
  • At least 4 years continuous experience in management / leadership in healthcare setting
  • Experience as a Preceptor / Clinical Nurse Educator
