As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator to join our team in Singapore. The Database Administrator will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and security of our company databases.

Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and Update Malware Protection:
  • Implement and maintain malware protection software to safeguard company databases against potential security breaches.
  • Regularly update malware protection software to ensure the latest security measures are in place.
  • Keep abreast of emerging threats and security vulnerabilities, taking proactive steps to mitigate risks.
  1. Database Maintenance and Organization:
  • Oversee the day-to-day maintenance of company databases, ensuring optimum performance and efficiency.
  • Identify and resolve database issues, such as connectivity problems, data corruption, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Develop and implement strategies for data backup, recovery, and disaster planning to minimize data loss and downtime.
  • Organize databases in a logical and structured manner, making it easy for authorized individuals to access and locate important documents efficiently.
  1. User Access Management:
  • Create and manage user accounts for authorized individuals to access databases.
  • Grant appropriate user privileges and permissions based on job roles and responsibilities.
  • Regularly review and update user access rights to maintain data confidentiality and integrity.
  • Assist users in troubleshooting access-related issues and provide necessary support.
  1. Database Security:
  • Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of company databases.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential security risks.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to ensure database security is aligned with overall IT security policies and standards.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in database security to proactively address emerging threats.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
  • Familiarity with database security principles and best practices.
  • Proficient in SQL and database query optimization.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
