Job Description

1. Responsible for the Alumni relations, life-long learning and Industry fund-raising portfolios of the department

  • Develop, coordinate and evaluate programs and projects to promote alumni relations by working with more than 1000 alumni and educational programs designed to connect alumni through academic channels.
  • Project Management to launch new self-funded program partnerships and pipelines for students from the Middle East such as linking up with partners in Middle East to set up self-funded programme from scratch
  • Cultivate a network of dedicated donors and alumni volunteers.
  • Develop, sustain, and strengthen alumni chapters which focus is on establishing and maintaining connections through academic/degree programs.
  • Identify new fundraising opportunities.
  • Strategize/ drive fundraising efforts
  • Build up network and collaboration with industry partners and improve the visibility and awareness of department in society.
  • Ensure major donors are satisfied and kept in the loop.

2. Management support for Head of Department (HOD) and Deputy Heads (DHs)
  • Attend all meetings related to strategic growth areas including NUS Presidential Young Professorship (PYP) recruitment, Undergraduate (UG) recruitment, Undergraduate (UG) and Post Graduate (PG) curriculum revamp etc.
  • Work closely with the department management team to develop monthly goals and objectives, develop and implement project campaigns, and establish and achieve goals.
  • Organize department and department management meetings including setting the agenda, prepare minutes and do all follow-ups.
  • Work with HOD and DHs to compile information requests and draft reports including senior management report, presentations to senior stakeholders etc for their edit and review prior to sending.
  • Onward forwarding and tracking of emails to relevant Deputy Heads and/or committee chairs.
  • Manage HOD e-mail account, and work closely with HOD for approvals on approval systems.
  • Manage HOD calendar, including research meetings scheduling.
  • Provide a key support to the HOD, including working closely with the HOD to prepare all documentation and information requested by Deanery or any third party.
  • Compile all information requests from HOD (including liaising with faculty, Deputy Heads, staff members or any other third parties).
  • Interface to academic staff, students, etc., e.g. organizing workshops and introducing new hires to key stakeholders and centre directors at NUS.
Qualifications
  • Possess a University degree in any discipline with 10 years of experience in fund raising, alumni relations and other relevant admin work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with multiple parties
  • Creative and strong problem-solving skills
  • Positive work attitude, self-driven, independent, team-oriented with a strong service mind-set
  • Able to multitask and work on a wide range of job scope
  • Independent and a self-starter yet a team player with an eye for details
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Preferably candidate who can start work immediately
