Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced School Psychologist to join our dynamic team. As a School Psychologist, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing mental-health intervention and prevention programs tailored to meet the unique needs of our students. You will collaborate closely with educational staff, students, and families to promote emotional well-being and academic success.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement mental-health intervention and prevention programs.
  • Utilise counselling and educational methods such as breathing exercises and mental imagery techniques.
  • Collaborate with educational staff to create coordinated plans for student support.
  • Evaluate and report on student progress using psychometric tests and other assessment tools.
  • Set learning goals based on each student's emotional, cognitive, and social strengths.
  • Refer students to community services as needed for additional support.
  • Research and implement new methods to improve children's well-being, such as mindfulness techniques.
  • Resolve classroom or school crises in a timely and effective manner.
  • Mentor and support teachers working with high-risk children.
  • Guide parents in facilitating their children's academic and emotional progress.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a School Psychologist in a diverse educational setting.
  • Knowledge of various methods to prevent or treat mental-health problems and other difficulties.
  • Strong understanding of state education policies and regulations. Effective communication and counselling skills.
  • Integrity and professionalism in all interactions.
  • A positive, patient, and resilient personality.
  • State license to work as a School Psychologist.
  • Master's degree in School Psychology or similar educational field a Ph.D. or Psy.D. is a plus.
