Overview.

Reporting to the Asst Dir / Sr. Asst Dir, Innovation Transfer Office, you will be crucial link between the Innovation Transfer Office and Data Protection Office. The candidate will work closely with the Innovation Transfer OfficeHaematology - Oncology Research Group. The candidate will ensure that contracts meet legal and hospital requirements while providing essential support to enhance operational efficiency.

The main purpose is to drive clinical innovation projects as well ascontract negotiation and execution.

These projects include but not limited to new technology development and implementation, identifying potential IP and facilitating commercialisation activities as well as the negotiation and management of research collaborations with external partners. As part of the Innovation Transfer Office (ITO) this role will be responsible for stimulating an environment for innovation and entrepreneurship and supporting the commercial activities of companies collaborating with NUHS by promoting and developing a strong brand for NUHS innovation activities.

Job Responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Facilitate seamless communication between the Research Office, Data Protection Office, and different functions within Synapxe, fostering collaboration and ensuring effective information flow
2. Facilitate discussions between clinicians and industry partners
3. Work with clinicians and industry partners to manage contractual deliverables for the subsequent implementation of practice-changing innovations
4. Lead team to negotiate terms as well as execute agreements for strategic partnerships, including research collaborations, clinical trials, Clinical Study and Investigator-Initiated Trials in consultation with legal office
5. Draft policies governing technology transfer and industry/business development activities as well as national level framework and master agreements and
6. Assist researchers with the interpretation and execution of grant terms and conditions as well as research compliance matters such as insurance, sponsorship, regulatory matters, clinical trial certificate applications, ethical issues and legal liabilities
7. Manage pipeline and facilitate development of NPIs (New Product Introduction) / Innovation for test-bedding inNUHS. New Product Introduction is a systematic process of taking a product from an ideated stage through research and development to launching it to the mass market with relevant IP creation. Work with project stakeholders to manage and track project deliverables and map out innovation development & commercialization pathways with the ability to scale up in mind
8. Ensure effective communication with members of the Project Team is maintained to achieve project targets
9. Maintain knowledge and awareness of the innovation landscape especially of collaborative research and grant funding opportunities
10. Work alongside the Haematology Oncology Research Group to ensure that contracts align with legal and hospital standards. Verify compliance with regulatory requirements and contribute to the development of contracts that meet ethical and legal standards.
11. Team lead staff needs to balance the commercial urgency required by the industry partner with the reputational impact on NUHS
12. Provide operational support to Innovation Transfer byoffering guidance to streamline processes, improveefficiency, and contribute to on-time project delivery.

Requirements.

. At least Bachelor of Science or Biomedical Engineering. Other postgraduate qualifications in IP law, Business or Entrepreneurship or Clinical Trial Research will be an advantage.
. 6-10 years of relevant experience in Technology Transfer Activities including (1) facilitating Research Collaborations (2) Working knowledge of IP management, Licensing / Commercialisation activities (3) Project Management. (4) Clinical Trial Research Organizations
. Experienced in working with multi stakeholders for Research Collaboration Agreement or Project Agreement for IHLs and PHIs.
. Good interpersonal and communication skills
. Able to work in a complex organisational environment, with a need to balance expectations of multiple stakeholders
. Possess strong analytical skills
. Able to tackle complicated research, regulatory and contractual issues
. Proficient in I.T. systems and MS Office applications
. Knowledge of legal contractual requirements in the context of research so that appropriate risk assessment and recommendations to senior management can be made in a timely manner and
. Collaborative difficult decisions and complex matters have to be managed and conveyed to multiple stakeholders as well as external parties.
