Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Material Controller to support material and spare parts management at a power generation plant in Jurong Island. The role will ensure the timely availability, control and traceability of critical materials and spare parts required for plant maintenance, operations and planned/unplanned outages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage power plant spare parts, maintenance materials
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure availability of critical spare parts for plant maintenance.
  • Coordinate material requirements for planned maintenance, shutdowns, turnarounds and outages .
  • Work closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, Procurement and Warehouse teams to ensure materials are available on time.
  • Monitor material requests, purchase orders, deliveries, receipts and issuance of spare parts.
  • Maintain and update Excel-based inventory trackers, material status reports and databases .
  • Conduct physical stock checks, cycle counts and inventory reconciliation.
  • Track critical, slow-moving and obsolete spare parts and maintain proper records.
  • Support urgent material requirements during plant breakdowns and unplanned maintenance .
  • Prepare and monitor outage/shutdown material requirements and availability .
  • Ensure proper identification, storage, preservation and traceability of plant spare parts.
  • Maintain relevant material documentation and records in accordance with site procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with plant HSE and material handling requirements .

Requirements

  • 4-5 years of experience in Material Control, Materials Management, Inventory Control or a related function.
  • Mandatory: Experience in a power plant / power generation environment.
  • Hands-on experience managing power plant spare parts and maintenance materials.
  • Experience supporting plant outages, shutdowns or turnaround activities.
  • Good understanding of materials used for mechanical, electrical and instrumentation maintenance.
  • Strong inventory management and stock reconciliation experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including inventory tracking, reporting and data management.
  • Experience coordinating with maintenance and engineering teams in an operating plant environment.
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills with good attention to detail.
  • Willing to be stationed at a power plant in Jurong Island.
  • Candidates with experience in thermal, gas-fired, combined-cycle or steam power plants will be preferred.
