  • Align and manage internal and external stakeholders globally to ensure effective roll-out of ESG initiatives.
  • Initiate, drive and coordinate global community uplifting efforts across the group to amplify PIL's impact in the communities we serve.
  • Marine Fuels
  • Manage the Marine Fuels and Services ('MFS') department responsible for the procurement and fulfillment of fuel, lubricants and other related supporting services.
  • Develop fuel strategy considering vessel trading profile, bunkering hubs and prices of various fuels.
  • Engage regulators to understand, support and advocate for improvements to the supply and operations of conventional as well as low emissions alternative fuel.
  • Negotiate and secure reliable and cost-effective fuel and lubricants supply for all PIL services.
  • Develop, maintain and enforce procedures for ensuring fuel quality and quantity.
  • Ensure all other related services (e.g. sludge management, water replenishment, lab tests, fuel forensics investigations) are carried out in a timely manner.
  • Provide inputs in the review of newbuilding design as well as charter agreements specific to fuel efficiency and emissions.
  • Operationalize the adoption of lower emission alternative fuels for dual fuel vessels being delivered into the fleet.
  • Decarbonisation
  • Monitor IMO and international/regional/local regulations on emissions and other issues that impact the group's ability to deliver sustainable shipping operations.
  • Maintain and update the group's decarbonisation roadmap to 2050 and translate this into strategy scenarios for supporting fleet renewal and deployment decision-making.
  • Explore, advise and drive the adoption of Energy Efficient Technologies in the existing fleet and newbuildings.
  • Evaluate various lower emission alternative fuel options and the economics, technical as well as operational considerations for implementation in the fleet.
  • Develop design concepts for alternative fuel vessels and refine newbuilding designs to ensure cost-effective dual fuel operations for the trades PIL operates in.
