Job Summary
The security analyst analyses cybersecurity events, enhances threat detection, and leads incident response to contain security incidents in collaboration with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Improve threat detection capabilities by analysing incidents and identifying gaps in security controls
- Maintain and optimize detection capabilities for the Security Operations Center (SOC)
- Analyse large datasets and correlate information from multiple sources to identify root causes of security incidents
- Enhance and update SOC detection and response playbooks to improve operational effectiveness
- Lead incident response efforts to minimize the impact of security incidents on the organization
- Collaborate effectively with IT infrastructure teams, application owners, and business units to ensure secure operations
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in information security technologies
- Understanding of cyber adversaries' tactics, techniques, and procedures
- Experience in the insurance or financial industry
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or GIAC
- Experience using Splunk for data analysis
- Ability to analyse and process large datasets efficiently
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to learn and work collaboratively in a team environment
