Job Title: Assistant Engineer – IC Packaging Assembly

Location: Central-North region

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Office Hours

Job Summary :

Looking for an Assistant Engineer to support IC chip packaging and assembly for high-performance RF packages. The role involves hands-on assembly work, process development, and evaluating new packaging designs.

Responsibilities:

  • Setup and operate assembly equipment for epoxy dispensing, die attach, wire bonding, plasma cleaning, curing, pull/shear testing, leak testing, etc
  • Execute Design of Experiments (DOEs) to develop or improve assembly processes.
  • Provide input on the producibility of new designs.
  • Develop assembly instructions and method sheets.
  • Define tooling/fixturing requirements and support assembly design.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues
  • Research and procure special tooling/equipment.
  • Report progress to department head and program teams
  • Perform IC chip assembly per work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
  • Manufacture products according to Company quality standards.
  • Complete quality work within deadlines, ensuring high yield and device reliability.

Requirements:

  • Diploma/ITE in Electronics or any engineering-related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years in IC assembly operations
  • Hands-on experience in epoxy dispensing, die attach, and wire bonding (thermo-compression bonding), including equipment setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Comfortable working with incomplete information and exploring new IC packaging processes.
  • Experience executing DOEs with high attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for process and equipment issues.
  • Experience with RF/Microwave assemblies for high-reliability, harsh environments (Mil-Std-883, Mil-Perf-38534).
  • Able to work overtime or weekends as needed.
