Job DescriptionThe Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering invites talented academics with excellent research track records in science, technology and engineering to apply for appointments as NUS Presidential Young Professors.
We seek exceptionally talented candidates who will develop the next generation of solutions to sustainability challenges and demonstrate excellence in system-level thinking. Relevant research topics include but are not limited to (1) climate change mitigation and adaptation, (2) digital and robotic technology, (3) smart and liveable cities, (4) environmental protection and sustainability, (4) resource circularity and resilience, and (5) aging infrastructures.
Successful candidates will receive
• A tenure-track position with an attractive salary package as an assistant professor at NUS
• Up to SGD 1 million in a start-up research grant + Scholarships to hire PhD students
• An award of SGD 250,000 in white space funding
• An opportunity to compete for the Singapore National Research Foundation (NRF) Fellowship, which comes with a five-year research grant of up to SGD 3 million

QualificationsCandidate should have/is completing a PhD degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering or related field, preferably with teaching and post-doctoral research experience. Interested candidates should send a cover letter, their detailed curriculum vitae with a full list of publications, statements of research and teaching interests and plans (maximum 3 pages each), and the names of three referees with contact details to the NUS career portal.
