Roles & Responsibilities

Job Description

· Oversee the company's financial performance, investments, ship financing and other business ventures.

· Report periodically the overall performance of the company to head office in Japan.

· Communicate with headquarters in Japan and implement any group policies in the company.

· Provide strategic advice to the board and Chairman so that they will have accurate view of the market and the company's future.

· Develop and execute the company's business strategies in order to attain the goals of the board and shareholders.

· Sourcing for new deals and negotiate with potential clients up to execution of new deals for the company.

· Communicate and maintain trust relationships with shareholders, business partners and authorities.

· Review and approve HR, Compliance, Internal Audit and other reports by Department Heads.

· Manage governance and compliance requirements and framework and ensure company policies and legal guidelines are communicated and complied with in the company.

· Delegate responsibilities and supervise the work of executives providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance.

Requirements

· Bachelor Degree

· Bilingual in English and Japanese language for writing and communicating with headquarter in Japan, affiliates and clients

· Available for frequent overseas business trip

· Proven experience as Managing Director or managerial position

· Demonstrable experience in developing strategic business plans and knowledge in shipping industry

· Thorough knowledge of market changes and forces that influence the company

· Excellent organisation and leadership skills

· Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills

· Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
