Roles & Responsibilities

Job Details:

  •  Basic maintenance of planted and potted plants, including those at the corridor planters, such as watering, pruning, fertilising, mulching, weeding, etc.
  •  Taking care of seedlings for transplanting into potted plants in the school premises.
  •  Carrying out plant transplanting as and when required for potted plants to be used indoor and outdoor.
  •  Monitoring the health of all potted plants.
  •  Troubleshooting and replacing batteries or minor components in automatic irrigation systems.
  •  Dealing with possible pest problems that could damage planted and potted plants and seedlings.
  •  Supporting teachers in the setup, planting and maintenance of portable Vegepod container gardening beds in the cultivation of vegetables and herbs for teaching and learning.
  •  Advise and support the planning and upkeep of the herb garden, fruit orchard, and other thematic gardens to ensure plant suitability and sustainability.
  •  Maintain the school's aquaponics system, including preparing grow beds, planting suitable crops, and monitoring plant growth.
  •  Undertake any other gardening related duties assigned by School Management.

Working Arrangement:

Location: Punggol

Working Hours:


• Mondays to Thursdays: 8:00am to 5:30pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch

break


• Fridays: 8:00am to 5:00pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break


• Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public

holidays

Contract Duration:

1 Year, 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026

Job Requirements:

Skills

  • Must possess basic horticultural knowledge (e.g. familiarity with plant care, understanding of soil types, plant nutrients etc.) and gardening skills like seed starting, vegepod/container gardening, transplanting, mulching, managing pest, pruning and watering.
  • Must possess basic troubleshooting skills to maintain and repair auto-irrigation system, including battery replacement and ensuring proper function.
  • Must possess basic aquaponics knowledge & skills
  • Must be able to assist teachers in communicating and sharing simple gardening skills with students
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
