Job Title: Research Assistant (Agriculture / Crop Trials)

About the Role

Join our Agri-Technology & Food Innovation Department and contribute to Singapore's sustainable food future. We are seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to support agricultural R&D projects, including vegetable breeding, cultivation trials, agronomic studies, and technology validation.

Responsibilities:

  • Organise, set up, and maintain field and controlled-environment crop trials.
  • Collect measurements and data on vegetable growth and development.
  • Collate, record, and maintain experimental data for analysis and reporting.
  • Assist with upkeep of experimental plots, greenhouses, or growth chambers.
  • Support routine operations, including maintenance tasks and troubleshooting issues.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Agriculture, Horticulture, Plant Science, Agronomy, or related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience in crop research, nursery operations, or cultivation.
  • Strong interest in agricultural research, crop trials, and sustainable food production.
  • Comfortable with both indoor and outdoor work; able to support research timelines beyond normal hours if required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of digital tools (e.g. sensors, imaging, crop monitoring software) is a plus.
  • Responsible, organised, and able to work independently and in a team.
