Manufacturing Director (Singapore)

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for the Jurong Island Singapore production site provide day-today leadership and management of the manufacturing plant to ensure compliance with company objectives, quality systems, and customer expectations.

The Manufacturing Director will also be responsible regarding certified systems in accordance with ISO (9001, 14001) and OHSAS (18001) Standards, for the management and assurance of quality, safety, industrial hygiene, and the environment.

  • Responsible for the Production, Technology, Quality, Maintenance, Reliability, Projects and Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Environmental Protection to ensure production runs on time and on target.
  • Implement world-class manufacturing and engineering practices to achieve plant specific performance targets.
  • Establish and achieve annual safety performance targets while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements (governmental, environmental, company.).
  • Ensure compliance with the production program, through the administration of the production areas, and planning of the daily production program, to enable the delivery program with competitive costs, quality and optimization of the necessary equipment and labor.
  • Manage the site budget, fixed and variable costs as well as achieve cost targets while continuously seeking to improve operating efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Develop a continuous improvement culture in the team, improve quality levels, implement plans to improve manufacturing processes, predictive and preventive maintenance of machines and equipment.
  • Collaborate with leadership team (R&D, Commercial, Supply Chain and other Functions) to deliver Company's strategic goals.
  • Provide manufacturing site leadership to ensure effective utilization of plant personnel and resources.
  • Commitment in relation to the Integrated Management System (SIG) and ensuring that the necessary resources to establish, implement, maintain, and improve SIG are available, aiming to achieve the intended results.

Required Skills

  • At least 20 years of progressive manufacturing experience in the chemical or petrochemical process manufacturing industry, with the last 10 years in senior leadership roles within world-class organizations.
  • A proven diverse track record through various operational-related roles such as engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement or broader is ideal.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in a global team environment and in managing cross functional direct and indirect teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other manufacturing plant and departments like Commercial, R&D and support Functions to achieve company goals.
  • Strong relationship builder with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills both within an organization and externally.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.
  • High energy, self-motivated, and hands-on management style working with all levels of the organization to drive performance and continuous improvement.

Education, Certifications & Licenses

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Chemistry.
  • Master's degree or MBA is an advantage.
