Innovative Technology and Academic Development Engineer

This role will be based in Huawei Singapore Research Centre. He/she will work together with the APAC team on academic development in the field of AI and software related new technologies. He/she will take up the responsibilities as described below:
Responsibilities
- Insight into key academic organizations (such as IEEE, ACM and important local organizations) for cooperation opportunities. Identify valuable academic resources related to Huawei's business.
- Work closely with APAC team on organizing academic conferences/workshops, as well as supporting cooperation activities.
- Conduct technology scouting through academic conferences and output insight reports. Take the following responsibilities: collection and review of information, timely publish the information online, enquiries follow up, monthly status review and etc.
- To collaborate and communicate directly with Chinese speaking officers, stakeholders, counterparts, and customers in China HQ team
- Assist in other ad-hoc tasks, as required.
Requirement
- Master or doctor degree holder in CS or EE schools, or have strong computer science, math, or software engineering background is a plus.
- With good analytical skills and be able to articulate the technology insights clearly.
- Passionate about new technologies.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Mandarin is essential to ensure effective communication with the Chinese-speaking stakeholders, including head office, business counterparts, and customers based in China.
- Demonstrate a high level of responsibility and professionalism and collaborate effectively and as a strong team player.
- This role may require business travel to other APAC countries, such as Japan, depending on business needs.
