Roles & Responsibilities

A Hairstylist provides professional hair care services to clients, including haircuts, styling, coloring, and treatments. They work with clients to understand their preferences, offer advice, and deliver high-quality services to help clients achieve their desired looks. Hairstylists need to stay up-to-date on the latest trends and techniques to ensure they offer the best services to their clientele.Over time, you'll be seen as an expert in the salon, and your work will serve as a cornerstone of client loyalty. You'll also have opportunities for leadership roles, special projects, and mentoring new stylists as part of your professional development.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Haircutting & Styling:

    Perform haircuts, trims, and styles for both men and women.

    Offer styling services for special occasions (e.g., weddings, proms).

    Provide blowouts, braiding, curling, straightening, and other hair styling techniques.
  2. Hair Coloring & Treatments:

    Apply various hair coloring techniques (e.g., highlights, balayage, ombré).

    Perform hair treatments, including deep conditioning, keratin treatments, and scalp treatments.

    Provide expert color consultations and create customized color solutions based on the client's needs.
  3. Client Consultation & Advice:

    Assess clients' hair types, conditions, and preferences.

    Provide advice on hair care, maintenance, and recommended products.

    Ensure that clients are satisfied with the final result and offer additional services as appropriate.
  4. Maintain Cleanliness and Sanitation:

    Follow proper sanitation procedures for tools and equipment.

    Maintain a clean, organized workspace.

    Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  5. Product Knowledge & Sales:

    Recommend and sell hair care products to clients.

    Stay up-to-date with the latest beauty trends and hair care products.

    Maintain a positive client relationship to encourage repeat business.
  6. Customer Service:

    Build rapport with clients, offering excellent customer service.

    Address client concerns and requests in a professional manner.

    Manage appointments and maintain an organized schedule.
  7. Administrative Tasks:

    Manage client bookings and appointments.

    Handle payments and follow up on client satisfaction.

    Maintain accurate records of services rendered and products used.
  8. Salon Presentation & Sanitation:
  9. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of your personal work area and common salon spaces. Follow health and safety regulations to ensure a safe environment for both clients and staff. Ensure tools and equipment are sanitized and in good condition at all times.

Experience: At least 3-10 years of professional hairstyling experience (or equivalent), with a proven track record of excellent client care and skills.
