about the job:
This is a leadership-level role at the intersection of engineering and AI innovation, driving the adoption of Generative AI capabilities across the region. The position involves a hybrid focus, approximately 60% technical leadership and 40% hands-on engineering and implementation.
You will be a key decision-maker for technical direction, working closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to evaluate and guide solution architecture, development practices, and AI governance standards. Beyond engineering, you'll act as a mentor and thought leader, embedding responsible AI practices across product teams.
Your scope will include influencing the design of GenAI systems, ensuring security, compliance, and ethical standards are met, while also staying ahead of emerging technologies to continuously elevate delivery quality and performance. This role reports into the regional leadership team and offers the opportunity to make a visible impact at scale.
skills and experience required:
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in a hands-on software engineering or AI/ML capacity, including familiarity with prompt engineering and working with LLM APIs or frameworks.
- A strong grasp of architecture principles, code quality standards, and security best practices.
- Exposure to large-scale solution delivery, including DevOps practices (e.g., Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines) and quality assurance metrics.
- Previous involvement in coaching or mentoring engineering teams, especially in responsible AI practices or data-driven product development.
- Ability to engage and collaborate across functions and geographies, including stakeholders in Japan.
- Any additional certifications in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) or Agile methodologies (e.g., SCRUM) would be a plus but are not mandatory.
