Roles & Responsibilities

Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate and creative Junior Perfumer to support the development of fragrances for various consumer fragrance product categories. The ideal candidate is a recent graduate of a recognized perfumery school or an assistant perfumer with 1–3 years of hands-on experience in fragrance creation and evaluation. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with experienced perfumers and commercial teams to translate market trends into winning fragrance concepts for APAC consumers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create winning fragrances following brief strategy and protocols set by FDM.
  • Build creative library for technical and categories.
  • Assist Senior/Master Perfumers in fragrance formulation, compounding, and reformulation tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of formulations, ingredients, and regulatory compliance information.
  • Conduct fragrance stability and performance testing in various product bases.
  • Participate in technical perfumery meetings – internal and client.
  • Participate in raw material studies for key / challenging bases.
  • Stay informed on raw material innovations, industry trends, and consumer insights within APAC markets.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Application, Evaluation, Marketing, and Regulatory teams.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor/ Master's degree in Perfumery / Chemistry from recognized or specialized Institutes.
  • Completion of a recognized perfumery school program from international fragrance houses is highly preferred.

Experience:

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in a fragrance house, FMCG, or B2B fragrance development role.
  • Worked under Master Perfumers of international acclaim is an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong olfactive sense; knowledge of performing and robust structures suitable to the market across base peculiarities.
  • Knowledge of olfactory trends and regional fragrance preferences across the markets and translate them into creative fragrance solutions.
  • Knowledge on raw material innovations, industry trends, and consumer insights within the markets.
  • Good knowledge of fragrance software.
  • Commercially savvy/ client orientation – ability to create smart fragrances with optimal price-performance-hedonics balance.
  • Meticulous, well-organized, and good at multitasking and time-management.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal esp. with respect to brief appreciation and fragrance creation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset – willingness to learn from senior perfumers, and ability to partner with lead FDMs or perfumers in a synergistic manner.
