Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Accounting and Tax to join our client's growing team. This position will play a critical role in managing a portfolio of clients across diverse industries, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring the team delivers accurate and high-quality accounting and tax services.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of accountants, overseeing a broad client base across industries such as manufacturing, research, retail, construction, property, oil & gas, charities, investment, metals, design, consulting, and start-ups.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, including filing tax returns with relevant authorities and submitting financial statements.
  • Oversee bookkeeping and daily accounting operations, including month-end closings, audits, and annual reporting for a portfolio of clients.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and assist with cash flow forecasting to maintain financial stability.
  • Manage payroll operations and support clients with budgeting and cost analysis.
  • Prepare and file corporate tax, employer tax, and GST returns.
  • Review and mentor the work of junior colleagues, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in accounting, with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in full-spectrum accounting and tax compliance.
  • Professional accounting qualifications such as CPA or ACCA are highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as XERO, MYOB, SAP, or Payday, along with advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with fluency in English. Proficiency in Mandarin or another language is a plus.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to manage confidential information with professionalism.
  • Prior experience mentoring and managing a team is essential.
