Roles & Responsibilities

Data Migration Specialist (ETL)

Responsibilities:

· Assist in designing, planning and managing the data migration process;

· Manage assigned risks and monitor potential impacts as part of the data migration plan;

· Work with subject matter experts and project team to identify, define, collate, document and communicate the data migration requirements;

· Work independently as a self-starter, and within a team environment;

· Work across multiple functional projects to understand data usage and implications for data migration;

· Develop best practice, processes, and standards for effectively carrying out data migration activities;

· Work with customers in gathering technical requirements for data migration needs;

· Share knowledge with team members and develop customer solutions efficiently;

· Perform source system data analysis in order to manage source to target data mapping;

· Perform migration and testing of static data and transaction data from one core system to another;

· Creation of end-user documentation for the new repository, as well as mentoring & training as needed;

· Attaching metadata to documents by analyzing their content or working with knowledgeable owners or teams;

· Identification of, or creation of, cost-effective tools that may automate data migration;

· Updating and maintaining a database of records which index and reference archived documents;

· Migration of key documents from legacy tools to a common SharePoint-based repository by following established processes.

Requirements:

· Degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent.

· Relevant working experience in ETL, Informatica PowerCenter, SQL, PowerShell scripting, Databases, Unix Shell etc.

· Knowledge in the Data Warehousing Domain.

· Good understanding of RDBMS databases.

· Good exposure to different Data Modelling techniques.

· Familiar with Waterfall & Agile methodologies.

· Understand different interface files.

· Strong written and communication skills.
