Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Blueprint Interpretation:

Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders to determine specifications and dimensions of finished products.

  • Machine Setup and Operation:

Set up and operate bending machines, including CNC press brakes, to bend, form, and shape sheet metal.
Adjust machine settings to achieve precise angles and dimensions.
Load and unload sheet metal materials into the bending machine.

  • Measurement and Layout:

Measure and mark sheet metal according to specifications.
Use measuring tools, such as calipers, rulers, and protractors, to ensure accuracy.

  • Quality Control:

Inspect finished products to verify conformance with specifications.
Identify and correct any defects or deviations from quality standards.

  • Machine Maintenance:

Perform routine maintenance on bending machines.
Identify and report any machine malfunctions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical Skills:

Proficiency in operating sheet metal bending machines, particularly press brakes.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong measurement and mathematical skills.
Knowledge of sheet metal properties and fabrication techniques.

  • Other Skills:

Attention to detail and accuracy.
Problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong work ethic and reliability.

  • Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience operating sheet metal bending machines.
