About the teamThe Disputes Foundations team in Singapore is responsible for building and maintaining the core infrastructure that powers Stripe's dispute management capabilities. Our charter focuses on API interfaces, money movement, and Cards and Local Payment Methods (LPM) integration surfaces. We work closely with other Stripe teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of our dispute management systems.
What you'll doWe are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Disputes Foundations team in Singapore. This role involves managing a team of talented engineers, driving technical strategy, partnering with product management to build and deliver Dispute products, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that support Stripe's dispute management capabilities.
Responsibilities- Lead and mentor a team of 8-10 engineers, fostering their growth and development
- Drive the technical strategy and roadmap for the Disputes Foundations team
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to define and execute on team goals
- Ensure the team delivers high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions
- Manage team operations, including capacity planning, sprint planning, and resource allocation
- Contribute to the broader engineering organization by sharing best practices and participating in cross-team initiatives
- Oversee the development and maintenance of API interfaces, money movement systems, and Cards and LPM integration surfaces
- Drive the transition of the team's focus to Disputes Foundations
- Coordinate with other Disputes teams to ensure smooth integration and operation of dispute management systems

Minimum requirements- 5+ years of experience in software engineering
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership role managing engineering teams
- Strong technical skills and ability to understand complex distributed systems
- Experience in building and maintaining large-scale backend systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within scope
- Experience with payment systems, financial technology, or dispute management
- Familiarity with API design and development
- Knowledge of money movement systems and financial regulations
- Experience working in a global, distributed team environment
- Track record of implementing successful process improvements
- Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, GCP)
- Familiarity with machine learning and data analysis techniques
- Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field
