Who Are We Looking For:

We are seeking an experienced Privacy Engineer (Senior) to join our team and play a pivotal role in advancing the field of privacy-preserving technologies, particularly in synthetic data generation. This role combines deep technical expertise in privacy-enhancing technologies with practical implementation skills to ensure our products meet the highest standards of privacy protection while maintaining data utility.

Key Responsibilities:
Privacy Technology Implementation:
  • Design and implement cutting-edge differential privacy algorithms into production-grade synthetic data generation systems
  • Develop privacy-preserving machine learning frameworks that maintain statistical fidelity while protecting individual privacy
  • Build and maintain privacy measurement tools & metrics to assess and quantify privacy risks in synthetic datasets
  • Develop frameworks for privacy budgets and differential privacy mechanisms across applications
  • Ensure that the privacy mechanisms scale efficiently to billions of records in large enterprises
Technical Leadership and Architecture:
  • Lead privacy engineering reviews of existing and new technical designs, identifying privacy risks and compliance issues
  • Collaborate with academic & applied research teams to translate cutting-edge privacy research into scalable, production-ready solutions
  • Guide product development teams in implementing privacy features and privacy-preserving data analysis techniques
Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Map privacy mechanisms and evaluations to regulatory compliance with global data protection regulations including PDPA, GDPR, CCPA and emerging AI regulations
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and data flow assessments for new features and products
  • Design and implement technical controls to mitigate identified privacy vulnerabilities
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of privacy practices and technical implementations
Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, Legal, and Compliance teams to integrate privacy considerations into business processes
  • Communicate privacy risks and mitigation strategies to senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders and customers
  • Drive privacy awareness initiatives across technical teams and the organization
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors (PhD preferred) in Privacy, ML, Computer Science or Mathematics
  • Strong foundation in privacy engineering fundamentals and statistical methods.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in data privacy with focus on privacy engineering and architecture
  • Proven experience implementing differential privacy in production systems and understanding of privacy-utility trade-offs
  • Experience with privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) including the range of data anonymisation techniques
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, DP-SGD) for privacy-preserving ML applications
  • Deep understanding of privacy laws and regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and their application to technology design
  • Applied experience of privacy threat modeling and adversarial attack methodologies
  • Experience with synthetic data generation techniques using GANs, VAEs, Transformers or other generative models
  • Knowledge of privacy measurement frameworks and statistical validation of privacy guarantees
  • Background in privacy engineering at scale of billions of records
