Roles & Responsibilities

As a pathfinding NVM Technology Process Integration engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be part of a world-wide team responsible for defining and driving next-generation technology from R&D to high volume manufacturing. You will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to deliver industry leadership for performance and cost with aggressive timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of one or more process modules and/or alternative flows
  • Structural development, electrical performance, process control
  • Manufacturability assessment
  • Set a clear direction for the module; have a well defined continual improvement plan
  • Be proactive in identifying potential issues and addressing them early
  • Analyze materials electrically and physically; work with process groups, etc. to select new material for development
  • Procure wafer resources
  • Make key team decisions; provide clear direction, goals and metrics for success of the team
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and be highly motivated
  • Lead cross functional teams to solve critical problems
  • Provide team leadership in module development with assembling and coordinating a development team of process engineers, yield engineers, etc.
  • Execute process experiments to perform process development and integration; extract, analyze, report and draw logical conclusions on experiments and clarify the statistical significance of the data
  • Processing of Si wafers
  • Collection and analyses of critical data during the processing of the experiment
  • Excellent experimental design
  • Skilled in innovation and problem solving and be able to solve complex problems in a logical manner from first principles, analysis, materials science, etc.
  • Innovate to address problems
  • Patent disclosures are encouraged
  • Understand technical literature and apply it to research projects
  • Understand scaling issues and have the technical insight to provide technical direction
  • Communicate key information via presentations and group discussions; drive informed decisions
  • Exhibit good presentation skills

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • PhD or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Physics, or Materials Science and Engineering, with at least 5 years of relevant semiconductor experience for an M.S. or at least 2 years for a Ph.D.
  • Prior integration and cross-functional project management experience highly preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to derive construction specifications based on correlating electrical and inline metrics based on unit processes and design rules.
  • Ability to design, execute and analyze experiments necessary to meet engineering specifications based on structure to electrical correlations, or on the need to attain product specifications such as speed, reliability, power, cost, etc., in the absence of these correlations.
  • Ability to solve problems with a model-based approach and drive technical innovation through process improvements, patents or technical papers.
  • Understand semiconductor device physics and electrical characterization methods including probe, ESDA, param and reliability.
  • Understand test structure definition, layout, and electrical testing as it pertains to assigned process module.
  • Experience in data analysis through JMP, Python or other data engineering software.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written English communications-skills.
