Roles & Responsibilities

If you're passionate about ships, cargo, and problem-solving, this role could be for you We're looking for a Structural / Design Engineer (Marine) to strengthen our team and support complex cargo operations.

What You'll Do:

  • Assess vessel hull strength and develop solutions to reinforce structures for heavy/project cargo
  • Prepare detailed plans and reports for lashing, stowage, securing, dunnage, and heavy lifting
  • Liaise with owners, charterers, shipmasters, and class societies to secure approvals and resolve technical queries
  • Provide technical input to the commercial team during vessel evaluations and tenders
  • Maintain accurate records, identify cost-saving opportunities, and improve workflows
  • Share expertise with the team and support training initiatives

What We're Looking For:

  • Diploma/Degree in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Structural/Design Engineer in shipyards or marine engineering
  • Proficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD or similar) and analysis software (e.g., Femap/Nastran)
  • Experience in cargo lashing design (e.g., DNV Lashcon) and working knowledge of lifting/rigging
  • Solid understanding of vessel stability, cargo loading, welding, and marine structures
  • Strong problem-solving skills, able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Resilient and calm under pressure, with the ability to handle last-minute demands
