Roles & Responsibilities

Our banking client is looking to hire Java Engineer to join their growing team. This role focuses on supporting the design, development, and maintenance of Java-based batch processes and RESTful APIs while learning and applying foundational DevOps practices. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, passionate about building robust software solutions, and interested in contributing to critical enterprise workflow applications.

Key Responsibilities:


• Assist in developing and maintaining Java-based application using frameworks like Spring Batch.


• Learn to optimize batch jobs for large-scale data processing and implement logging and error-handling mechanisms.


• Collaborate with senior developers to integrate batch processes with databases and other systems.


• API Development:


• Assist in designing and building RESTful APIs to support application integrations.


• Collaborate with team members to understand API requirements and implement them efficiently.


• Learn best practices for securing, testing, and documenting APIs.


• DevOps Practices:


• Learn and contribute to creating CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment using tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD.


• Assist in containerizing applications using Docker and deploying them to development environments.


• Gain exposure to monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar to ensure application performance.


• Support and Collaboration:


• Troubleshoot and resolve basic issues in batch jobs and APIs under the guidance of senior engineers.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA and DevOps, to ensure smooth project delivery.


• Document workflows, code changes, and processes for team knowledge-sharing.

Qualifications:


• Education:


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). with around 2 years of experienc. Fresh grad welcome to apply


• Technical Skills:


• Foundational knowledge of Java programming and experience with frameworks like Spring Boot or Spring Batch.


• Basic understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, and XML.


• Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and writing SQL queries.


• Exposure to version control tools (e.g., Git) and build tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle).


• Willingness to learn DevOps tools like Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Soft Skills:


• Strong desire to learn and grow as a developer.


• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.


• Good communication and teamwork abilities.


• Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Not required for Fresh Graduates):


• Experience Candidates: 3~5 years Java development projects


• Fresh Graduate/Entry-Level Engineers: Internship or academic experience with Java development projects.


• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), or containerization tools.


• Familiarity with scheduling tools like Quartz Scheduler or Apache Airflow.
