Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and monitoring vessel maintenance plans for assigned vessels.
  • Evaluating maintenance standards on board, including reporting and executing breakdown/defect maintenance.
  • Managing vessel surveys, certificates, and timely inspections/dry dockings, including detailed written reports.
  • Handling incidents and accidents promptly, performing root cause analysis, and implementing preventive measures.
  • Maintaining the latest versions of vessel plans, manuals, and operational documentation.
  • Arranging and managing insurance repairs, spare parts, stores, lubricants, paints, etc.
  • Preparing and monitoring vessel budgets with regular updates and cost control.
  • Ensuring environmental, safety, and maintenance compliance across vessels.
  • Conducting vessel visits at stipulated intervals and submitting detailed visit reports.
  • Coordinating activities between vessels and office teams.
  • Monitoring daily vessel performance.
  • Implementing company objectives for the marine operations team.
  • Managing marine casualties as per IMS procedures.
  • Appraising crew on board for vessels under their charge.
  • Performing any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Chief Engineer's Certificate of Competency.
  • Minimum 2 years of LNG/LPG sailing experience at management level or minimum 2 years' experience as a superintendent.
  • Good understanding of Dual Fuel Engines, LNG cargo containment, and handling systems.
