Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • SHMS Implementation: Administer and maintain an effective Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) as per regulations and prepare for external audits.
  • EHS Audits: Conduct Environmental, Health, and Safety audits as required.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with occupational safety, health, and environmental laws and regulations.
  • EHS Training: Prepare and deliver EHS training for employees based on Risk Assessments (RA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP).
  • WSH Performance Monitoring: Track Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) performance and discuss in committee meetings.
  • ECO Duties: Perform Environmental Control Officer (ECO) responsibilities as assigned.
  • Earth Control Measures: Implement and oversee Earth Control Measures (ECM) according to QECP designs, ensuring compliance during construction and monitoring their effectiveness with QECP assistance.
  • Maintenance and Inspections: Conduct site inspections and oversee maintenance programs.
  • PUB Clearance: Obtain clearance to start work by submitting QECP-endorsed ECM plans to the Public Utilities Board (PUB).
  • ECM Installation: Oversee ECM installation on-site in line with the approved plan.
  • WSH Act Compliance: Cooperate with safety procedures, report unsafe acts, and avoid tampering with safety devices.

Requirements:

  • Possess a Specialist Diploma in WSH or a Bachelor's Degree in a WSH-related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in ECO and ECMO roles.
  • Hold a valid Environmental Control Officer (ECO) certification.
  • Registered with both NEA and IES.
