Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a Junior Server and Network Engineer to join our client team. This role designed for individuals who are eager to grow their skills in server administration and network management. The ideal candidate will assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of servers, network devices, and infrastructure. You will work under the supervision of senior engineers to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our organization's IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the configuration, installation, and maintenance of servers, including both physical and virtual environments.
  • Support and troubleshoot networking hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Monitor server and network performance, ensuring availability and minimizing downtime.
  • Assist in network configurations, including IP address management, VLANs, and DNS/DHCP setups.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve server and network issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist in implementing security protocols and monitoring systems for server and network infrastructure.
  • Perform routine backups, updates, and patching of systems and network devices.
  • Support senior engineers in network upgrades, installations, and migrations.
  • Document network and server configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Provide support to end-users on network and server-related issues.
  • Participate in on-call support rotations if required.
Requirements:
  • Basic understanding of server and network administration.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server and Linux/Unix systems.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) and routing.
  • Exposure to networking equipment such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A desire to learn and grow in the field of server and network engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+) are a plus.
