Roles & Responsibilities

  1. DUTIES
    1. Prepare and teach stimulating classes in classical ballet to students and prepare students for a potential professional career in dance
    2. Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and syllabi
    3. Explain and demonstrate proper techniques
    4. For classical ballet, teach the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) curriculum and prepare students for RAD examinations
    5. Choreograph and teach ballet and/or contemporary dance private classes and prepare students for competitions
    6. Assist in preparation & participate in competitions and performances
    7. Assist in preparation and assist & participate in RAD exam days
    8. Ability to connect and capture students' attention, deliver information clearly, concisely and effectively
    9. Establish and communicate clear objectives
    10. Maintain student attendance records
    11. Nurture each student to maximize his/her dance potential
    12. Assessment and support of individual student learning styles
    13. At the end of each Term, prepare Progress Reports for students where needed
    14. Effective and timely communication in person and through email with varied school directors and colleagues
    15. Support of school-wide initiatives and programs
    16. To support colleagues and work whole-heartedly for the good of the school
    17. Work reflectively to set goals, receive constructive feedback and try new strategies to improve student achievement
    18. Participate in faculty and staff meetings
  • RAD Registered Teacher required, professional dance company background preferred.
  • Minimum 3 year(s) of teaching experience in RAD syllabus
  • Candidate must possess at least a Dance Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in any field
