Roles & Responsibilities

Job Scope:

The Head (Product Management) will lead the product management team in identifying opportunities, developing, and managing a portfolio of AI and Digital products in the homeland security space, while aligning with the client's strategic direction. This role will involve reporting and monitoring AI initiatives that ensure public safety and security by supporting the client's operations. The successful candidate will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to guide the products through their entire lifecycle, from ideation to launch, ensuring ongoing improvements. Additionally, the Head (Product Management) will play a key role in fostering a product-focused development culture within the client's organization.

• Lead the product team(s) to develop, update, and prioritize long-term product roadmaps on a regular basis by partnering with stakeholders and users.
• Prioritize the delivery of products and product features, and define launch parameters such as minimal viable product (MVP), versioning, releases, and go-to-market communication.
• Collaborate with the Solution & Design team to identify and validate problem statements that help agile teams conceptualize or innovate new AI and digital solutions or evolve current product features.
• Engage cross-functional stakeholders by communicating value propositions that deliver digital solutions to optimize resources, reduce time-to-market, and minimize costs.
• Evaluate and execute commercial opportunities to co-develop solutions or integrate commercially available products to achieve product goals.
• Recommend and manage appropriate methodologies for user discovery, validation, agile development, testing, and reporting results regularly.
• Manage cross-functional agile teams, including solution and design, engineering, and engagement teams, while ensuring alignment on product requirements, feature prioritization, development, and delivery.
• Manage team resources and performance, ensuring alignment between individual aspirations and stakeholders' requirements.

Qualifications:

• Postgraduate or tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Public service experience is an added advantage.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in digital product management or a similar role, with experience leading a team of product managers.
• Demonstrated success in defining, launching, and scaling a product.
• Knowledge of agile development processes and product methodologies, such as lean and design thinking.
• Technical understanding of digital trends and technologies, including emerging technologies.
• Experience with AI-related technologies, AI/ML, Data Science, and Data Analytics is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate product vision and strategy to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and prioritization skills.
• Ability to deal with uncertainty and adapt to changes, with the ability to pivot product strategy as customer needs or business strategy evolve.
• Emphasis on user-centric requirements and product usability.
• A deep passion for product development and a strong motivation to build products that bring value to users.
• Data-driven decision-making, using insights to inform product strategy and prioritize features.
• Supportive and empowering leadership style, focused on helping the team develop, grow, and deliver strong results.
• Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to bring a product from ideation to delivery.
