About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated R&D Lead to drive our initiatives in sustainable materials for 3D printing. This role involves leading performance testing, process optimization, and addressing technical challenges. You will be instrumental in qualifying new materials and facilitating the transition from research to production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead research and development on sustainable 3D printing materials.
  • Oversee performance testing and refine process optimization.
  • Conduct in-depth research on metallurgical properties of 3D printing materials.
  • Qualify new materials for 3D printing, emphasizing sustainability.
  • Design and develop 3D printable prototypes for applications in portable devices and medical equipment.
  • Address technical challenges and enhance 3D printing processes, including equipment maintenance.
  • Manage the transfer of 3D printing technology from research to production, overseeing pre- and post-processing operations.
  • Develop intellectual property related to 3D printing.
  • Collaborate with research partners and internal teams to drive innovation.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong foundation in engineering principles.
  • Deep knowledge of materials science and additive manufacturing processes.
  • 2-3 years of experience in the additive manufacturing industry, especially with metals like titanium, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Expertise in various 3D printing technologies, with a preference for laser powder bed fusion.
  • Familiarity with metal materials commonly used in additive manufacturing.
  • Experience in setting up new 3D printing labs is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Materialise Magics; additional skills in CAE and CAD are preferred.
