The NationalInstitute of Education (NIE) invites applications for a SeniorTechnical Specialist in Information Technology (IT) in the LearningSciences & Assessment (LSA) Department. This role will provideyou with the experience and opportunity to work in a dynamicdepartment with faculty members, staff and students ofNIE/NTU.

JobDescription

We seek a highly organizedand proactive Senior Technical Specialist in IT. The successfulcandidate will play a crucial role in leading and managing IToperations of the LSA department along with other TechnicalSpecialist in the department and in collaboration with ACIS, NIE'smain IT department.

KeyResponsibilities
  • ITlaboratories management: Lead and perform maintenance andupgrading (when necessary) of department's IT assets (approximately100 computers and 10 commercialapplications).
  • IT budgeting andpurchases: Propose and monitor department's IT-relatedbudget.
  • IT laboratoriessupport: Provide classroom support to instructors in useof IT assets and educational technologyapplications.
  • Emergingtechnologies support: Provide supportfor emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence foreducation.
  • Curriculumsupport: Support course coordinators in e-learningcontents management including AI/machine learning-related coursematerials.
  • Systemadministration: Manage and maintain department's virtualservers in collaboration with ACIS, NIE's main IToffice.
  • Web applications:Manage and maintain department's web applications in collaborationwith ACIS, NIE's main ITdepartment.
  • Student researchadministration: Manage and archive department's studentsresearchdata.


Requirements
  • AUniversity degree in Information Technology or relatedfield.
  • Minimum of 2 years IT operations ordevelopment experience.
  • Knowledge or experiencein AI/machine learning and programming (Javascript, Python, etc.)strongly preferred.
  • Ability to workindependently and proactively.
  • Ability tomaintain confidentiality.
  • This role requiresovertime support for evening classes. We are seeking a candidatewho is flexible and can adapt to varying schedules asneeded.
